Introduction | Cefotaxime sodium is a commonly used carbapenem antibiotic, which belongs to the third generation semi-synthetic cephalosporin. Its antimicrobial spectrum is broader than that of cefuroxime, and its effect on Gram-negative bacteria is stronger.
White, white or light yellow white crystal, odorless or slightly special odor. Soluble in water, slightly soluble in ethanol, insoluble in chloroform. Dilute solution is colorless or slightly yellow, grayish yellow when the concentration is higher, and dark yellow or brown when it deteriorates. |
Application | The third generation of broad-spectrum cephalosporin antibiotics has strong bactericidal effect on both Gram-negative and positive bacteria, especially on Gram-negative bacteria, and is stable to β-lactamase, and must be injected. Clinically, it is used for respiratory system infection, urinary system infection, biliary tract and intestinal tract infection, skin and soft tissue infection, septicemia, burn and bone and joint infection caused by sensitive bacteria. |
