Introduction |
Thiamphenicol is white to off-white crystalline powder or crystals. Melting point (ºC) 178-180 (mixed rotation), 164-166 (right rotation). Its chemical formula is [R-(R*,R*)]N-[1-(hydroxymethyl)-2-hydroxy-2-[4-(methylsulfonyl)phenyl]ethyl]-2,2 -Dichloroacetamide, easily soluble in dimethylformamide, slightly soluble in absolute ethanol, slightly soluble in water. Clinically, it is mainly used to treat respiratory, urinary, hepatobiliary, typhoid and other diseases such as intestinal surgery, obstetrics and gynecology and ENT infections, especially for mild to moderate infections. |
Application |
Used for infections of the respiratory system, hepatobiliary system, urinary system and digestive system caused by influenza bacillus, E. coli, and Salmonella that are sensitive to this product. It also has a certain effect on typhoid fever, paratyphoid fever and brucellosis; it is also used for gonorrhea and gonococcal urethritis. |
