Introduction | Diminazene, also known as Benir, is a yellow or orange crystalline powder, odorless when exposed to light and heat, it turns orange-red and dissolves in water, almost insoluble in ethanol, insoluble in chloroform and ether |
Application | Diminazene is traditionally used as a broad-spectrum antiprotozoan against trypanosoma, pyriform and anaplasma. The blood concentration is high after medication, but the duration is short, so it is mainly used for treatment, and the prevention effect is poor. This product selectively blocks DNA synthesis or replication of trypanosoma motifs, and irreversibly combines with the nucleus, thus making the trypanosoma motifs disappear, and can not split and reproduce. It is mainly used for trypanosomiasis and equine epidemic caused by trypanosomiasis. In addition, it has therapeutic effect on babesiosis and Taylerian’s disease caused by pyriform in domestic animals, but has poor preventive effect on most pyriform diseases. In insufficient doses, both pyriform and trypanosome worms can develop resistance. |
