Introduction |
Myxobacillus sulfate, also known as Colistin sulfate, Colistin, PolymyxinE, antiditin, etc., white or nearly white powder, odorless bitter taste with moisture, soluble in water, slightly soluble in methanol ethanol, almost insoluble in acetone ether, etc., free base slightly soluble in water, stable in ph3-7.5 range |
Application |
Antibiotic, produced by polymyxobacterium, has a strong antibacterial effect on gram-negative bacteria, used for the treatment of intestinal diseases caused by gram-negative bacteria. Myxobacillus sulfate is used to penetrate bacterial cell membranes and mannose to fight blood clotting and antibiotic resistance in certain organisms, such as Bowman. It has also been used to study hephrotoxicity, MIC value against Pseudomonas aeruginosa, time killing kinetics, and post-antibiotic effect in rat kidneys. |
